Our
story goes a little something like this:
In
July of 2008 my mother, Lil, was telling me how she had just made a dress for
Lizzie (my niece, her granddaughter) that was held together by hook and
loop. The reason she made the dress was because Lizzie was going through a
phase where she liked to reenact the part in Cinderella where the evil
step-sisters pull apart Cinderella's dress right before she goes to the ball.
To stop her from tearing apart her entire wardrobe, Lizzie's mom, Julie, asked
Lil (who is a genius with a sewing machine) to make Lizzie a dress
that she could rip apart and put back together herself. The dress was such
a hit that Lizzie wore her dress everywhere. Other little girls would see
Lizzie and wanted their own dress that would allow them to take it apart and
put it back together.
That is when my Mom and I came up with the idea of Lizzy Wear, a unique
line of dresses that would allow little girls to change up the accessories of
their dress (sleeves, beads, sashes, etc.) to make their dress their very
own.
The
look of Lizzy Wear is "boutique meets dress-up clothes." Little girls
love to play dress up, and Moms love the look of those chic boutique dresses.
Lizzy Wear dresses are reversible (2 dresses for the price of one = value) and
can be worn countless ways - how ever your little fashionista sees fit (for the
moment) and when she wants to change it up - she can do so!

As said before, our idea for this business was inspired by Lizzie. Lizzie is a
beautiful little girl who lights up a room when she smiles. When Lizzie was 2 years old, she was diagnosed with Autism. Thanks to countless prayers along with her loving and dedicated
parents, Lizzie has made great progress and is now making friends and enjoying
the first grade. To learn more about Lizzie, her progress and therapies her
parents have found beneficial, check out her blog: http://lizziehornok.blogspot.com. A portion of every Lizzy Wear sale will be donated to a non-profit organization that benefits children with Autism.
All the best,
Jennifer
